A holiday village on the seaside, a microcosm: here a group of vacationers keep busy with games and dances, and in the meanwhile they talk, and talk, and talk. It’s a small sample of banal humanity, afraid and eager to have fun. Offshore, motionless and looming, a ship full of people is anchored. The vacationers can’t ignore the other over there, and in a crescendo of bitter delirium, they try to wriggle out of the situation in a grotesque and indelicate way. Eventually their different destinies become one, and what was a vague feeling of unsafeness becomes their new truth. Who is the shipwrecked, in the end?
